Meditation

There are many forms of Meditation. In essence however, Meditation involves an effort at self-regulating both physical and mental aspects by clearing and focusing the mind and, in doing so, relieving mental and/or physical discomfort. Meditation has a calming effect and directs awareness inward until a meditative state is achieved, sometimes described as "becoming aware of awareness". There are many different activies commonly referred to as meditation including: Mindefulness; Body Scanning; Zen Meditation; Progressive Muscle Relaxation; Mindefulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Yoga. Any and all of these can be used in Life-Coaching to help your clients with a variety of issues. If you are not a specialist in these fields, you may also wish to refer your client(s) to an experienced practitioner or yogi to complement your coaching sessions.
